Meet the artist

Emlyn Taveras is a New York based artist, educator, and creative visionary with over 25 years of experience in multimedia art, immersive installation, and storytelling. Her work explores themes of identity weaving together cultural narratives that honor both personal and collective histories.

Her artistic practice spans mixed-media collage, murals, illustration, and public art installations, each piece deeply rooted in storytelling and cultural significance. As a seasoned facilitator, she has partnered with museums, schools, and organizations to develop art-based learning experiences that bridge cultural history with contemporary development.

Emlyn is deeply interested in non-traditional, expansive ways to enhance dialogue around heritage, purpose, and how art can foster progress in our communities and diverse environments. Beyond creating, she offers a multitude of services including public art installations, custom commissions, education, community projects, and consulting.

Her work blends artistry, strategy, and storytelling—bringing bold ideas to life with a passion for innovation and immersive execution. She transforms ordinary spaces into extraordinary, purpose-driven environments that resonate. By partnering with brands, organizations, and communities ready to break boundaries, Emlyn co-creates experiences that are visually striking, culturally rooted, and deeply aligned with her mission. Her work is not only about aesthetics—it is about sparking dialogue, honoring identity, and shifting what’s possible through art.

Emlyn’s most recent and impactful projects stand as bold, creative anchors in their communities, uplifting local identities and setting new standards for how public and educational spaces can feel rooted in culture, beauty, and purpose:

• Transformation of a Gentleman’s Club into an Art School (South Bronx): Reimagined and curated every detail of a redeveloped historic building into a museum-like art school, honoring legacy while transforming the space into a daily artistic experience for youth and the community.

• Five-Story Historic Piano Factory Redevelopment (Bronx): Converted an industrial piano factory into an arts-focused high school and community hub, integrating cultural connection into the architecture and learning environment.

• Immersive Installation (NYC): Designed and executed several large scale installations including a series of totem pole sculptures titled ‘4 Realms’ and ‘Upward Crossings’ representing the journey of migration. Designed several mobile art installation floats for the Puerto Rican Day Parade, one of New York’s largest public stages, embodying identity and heritage, while serving as a marketing tool to increase presence and awareness of the service and commitment to culture and education
